Jon Brookes, drummer for indie band The Charlatans died at the age of 44 Years. He suffered a seizure while on tour with his band in 2010 and has been on treatment for a brain tumor he suffered. Brookes has undergone multiple surgeries, but he continued working for the new material along with the band during the summer. Brookes died in hospital on Tuesday morning, accompanied by his family at his bedside. Frontman Tim Burgess tweeted that the band was "torn" to hear the sad news and send our sympathies to the family of Brookes.
"Jon Brookes, my friend, our drummer and an inspiration to so many, passed away this morning. We were torn. Sense of sorrow for the family of Jon," he said.
He also thanked "everyone on the message and their memories of Jon. So much love on this sad day."

Brookes previously diagnosed with a brain tumor after collapsing during a gig together Charlatans in Philadelphia, in the United States in 2010. He had stopped breathing and was assisted by a doctor who attended the event, before being taken to hospital for emergency treatment. The rest of their U.S. tour was canceled when Brookes was flown to England for treatment.
